The 13th IPWEA NZ Excellence Awards will be presented at the Fulton Hogan Conference Dinner at the IPWEA NZ 2018 Conference, being held in Rotorua, June 22nd, 2018.

- Kerry Griffiths - Technical Director of Sustainability with AECOM (discussing sustainability in infrastructure)
- Genevieve Smith - Senior Sustainability and Environmental Advisor with Beca (discussing sustainability in design)

Join us for the next Auckland Young Professionals event - Contracts 101 on Tuesday, 10th July from 5:30-7:30pm, hosted at the Beca Auckland Offices (21 Pitt Street, Auckland). You'll enjoy networking time before and after the short (30 minute) presentation by Brent Meekan, Business Director of Roads and Highways with Beca.
Brent will give an overview of the commonly used contracts within the industry including CCCS (Conditions of Contract for Consultancy Services), SFA (Short Form Agreement), Producer Statements and more. This is a great session to attend if you are interested in the business or management side of the engineering and consulting industry, as this overview session is a great intro into common contracts.
FREE drinks and nibbles will be provided and this event counts towards your CPD records as well. Please RSVP so that appropriate catering and arrangements can be made.
This event is open to any Young Professional (aged 35 or younger) or the "young at heart" who want to support the next generation of leaders.

The two day IPWEA NZ “Engineer’s Representative and Contractor’s Representative” workshop is targeted at those new to involvement on construction contracts, developing sound understanding of these two key roles in construction contract management. Workshop content covers the project life cycle, including project definition, legal, documentation and procurement issues, communications and the various functions needing to be performed by the appointed representatives, such as programming, resourcing, inspections and testing, quality management, extensions of time entitlements, ordering or claiming of variations, payment assessment and claims, contract completion, all from the perspective of NZS 3910:2013 contracts. Trainees work together on solving practical problems in simulated situations and receive detailed guidance in takeaway manuals and from role playing experiences, to improve their effectiveness in real world situations. More than 1,000 trainees have attended this workshop during the last decade.
