Cris Dunning established C A Dunning Consultants in 1979 specialising in construction related design and construction programming. In 1986 Dunning Thornton Consultants Ltd was created when Adam Thornton joined the practice and the firm expanded into all areas of structural design. Following Cris Dunning's departure from the company in 2003 to pursue offshore interests, Alistair Cattanach and Paul Brimer joined Adam as co-directors.Dunning Thornton has established itself as an industry leader in specialist structural design services for a wide range of engineering projects including base isolation, seismic design, multi level construction (commercial, retail, residential & civic/public), seismic assessment and strengthening. Heritage restoration and seismic retrofit and large building relocation services are provided for a wide range of project sizes, from single dwellings to mega dollar buildings. Dunning Thornton has established excellent industry contacts and relationships.
