About Liz
I have worked in the construction industry as a structural engineer for the last 25 years in the UK, Russia, Antarctica and Hong Kong. I started my career with Arup and joined Beca when I moved to New Zealand ten years ago. I am currently a Technical Director in the Auckland Building Structures team, and I was also the Manager of the Structural team for five years.

I’m originally from South-west England and moved to New Zealand from Hong Kong with my family ten years ago.
What strengths do you bring to the Regional Chair role?
I have been Regional Chair for Auckland Central and South for the last three years and I have nearly 25 years' experience in consultancy in the construction industry. I have held technical, leadership, managerial and business planning roles throughout my career. I am a strong collaborator and communicator and a keen advocate for careers in the construction and consulting sector.
How would you support ACE's mahi in your region?
I will continue to support membership interviews, liaise with the Local Consenting Authority, support local ACE events, and promote the work and focus areas of ACE to local members.
