Non-financial climate and sustainability reporting changes

About
Significant changes are on the way for reporting, auditing and assurance on climate and wider sustainability information. Learn about these changes and the opportunities for professional consulting engineers in this one-hour webinar with Marje Russ, Chair NZ Auditing and Assurance Standards Board at the External Reporting Board and Technical Director Environment and Sustainable Business, Tonkin + Taylor along with Misha Pieters, Director Auditing and Assurance at XRB.
Stakeholder requirements and expectations of organisations to report on climate and sustainability are rapidly growing. Some stakeholders want information about how these issues impact on organisations’ operations and value and others are interested in how organisations' activities impact the environment and people. To provide confidence and trust in what is reported, requirements for independent assurance are also increasing.
Preparing and auditing financial statements has long been the domain of accountants, but reporting and assuring non-financial information such as climate and sustainability matters requires a much wider range of professional expertise. This represents an opportunity for ACE New Zealand members but also a risk to fully understand the requirements.
