Why lawyers think the way they do with Kiri Parr

Webinar - October 19, 2021 at 12:00pm - 1pm

About

If you're a small to medium-sized business, chances are you don't have an in-house legal team. Lawyers are a necessity in our line of work - whether it's to review contracts, helping with negotiations or dispute resolutions. Join respected lawyer Kiri Parr in this one-hour webinar as she looks at why contracts are getting longer and harder to read and why they stop us from just 'getting on with the job'.

It's an opportunity to strengthen yourself as a consultant to gain a better understanding of the legal lens in our sector and what problems lawyers try to help us solve.

We’ll cover different perspectives of the “why” behind typical behaviour such as:

  • Understanding liability from a lawyers perspective – liability pathways and the pros and cons
  • Understanding common tools that lawyers use
  • Discussing the role that contracts serve to different stakeholders and where our wires are getting crossed between users
  • Understanding legal language
  • The negotiation process and dispute resolution

Kiri will be joined by Katrina Van Houtte (Partner at Dentons Kensington Swan) and Tristan Meo (Legal Director - ANZ at Aurecon).
