Who is the ACE New Zealand Board?
Our Board provides governance for ACE New Zealand as well as monitoring our performance. They also set our strategic direction, and importantly, protect the integrity of the organisation by ensuring that robust systems are in place.

Our current Board
Ida Dowling
Ida is the current President of ACE New Zealand and is a Principal Transport Consultant with Commute Transportation Specialists. She has over 20 years’ experience as a civil engineer within the transport sector and has provided high-quality transport advice to a wide range of public and private sector clients.
Ian Fraser
Ian is the current Vice President of ACE New Zealand and is General Manager, Asia Pacific with GHD. He is passionate about leading a fully integrated client-centric organisation that brings diverse teams of people together to deliver solutions to clients. Ian is part of GHD’s global executive team.
Meagan Stewart Barfoot
Meagan is a Founding Director of RoadLab. She has 20 years’ experience in roading, transport and infrastructure engineering. She describes herself as an ideas person – able to look outside the box and see the bigger or brighter picture.
Jenson Varghese
Jenson is the New Zealand Regional Manager with MRCagney. He is a transportation planner and engineer with a broad range of experience. Jenson is responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of urban planners, urban designers, transport and public transport specialists. Jenson won the ACE New Zealand Emerging Leader Award in 2016.
Weng Yuen Kam (Kam)
Kam is a Technical Director and Team Leader for Structural Engineering with Beca. He has a PhD in Structural Earthquake Engineering and over 15 year’s experience in the consulting sector. Kam won the ACE New Zealand Emerging Leader Award in 2018 and the FIDIC International Young Professional of the Year in 2019.
Glen Cornelius
Glen has been Managing Director of Harrison Grierson since 2012, responsible for steering the organisation through significant transformation and growth. In addition to being a highly experienced civil engineer, Glen is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors and Board Chair of Habitat for Humanity.
Paul Burton
Paul is Executive Leader – Testing with Tonkin + Taylor. He has over 20 years’ experience in the consulting sector with an emphasis on geotechnical and environmental site investigations. Paul is also a Director of Geotechnics and Chadwick Geotechnics, which are part of the wider Tonkin + Taylor group.
Guy Dennis
Guy is National Bid Manager with WSP. He is an experienced leader in the civil engineering industry with experience across both local government and the consulting sector. He has strong governance experience, including roles as Chair and Board member for not-for-profit community organisations.
Richard Morley-John
Richard is a Senior Engineer with Calibre Group. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and has over a decade of experience in the consulting sector specialising in structural engineering across a range of development types.
