ACE Awards encourage reflection and celebration says GHD

With expressions of interest for this year’s ACE Awards closing on Sunday 30 March, GHD Waikato Regional Leader Shaun Hamilton tells us how great it felt to celebrate its ACE Awards wins with its clients.

How did you and your team feel when you won Silver and Special 2024 ACE Awards?

Being able to accept the awards along with our clients felt great, and it was an awesome recognition of both ours and our clients’ efforts

What does winning an award mean?

We don’t do projects for the potential recognition but, at the same time, it’s been great to have the recognition of a project that has gone so well, and which will deliver such benefits for the community and environment.

How have you used the award internally and externally?

Internally, it has been great to showcase GHD’s capability in this space, and that we’re leading the pack in terms of successful projects.

Externally, it has been a good profile builder, and good to be able to incorporate into bids for other similar projects.

Would you encourage others to enter?  Why?

Yes, I’d definitely recommend others enter. I think as an industry we’re too quick to finish a project and then move onto “what’s next”. I think it’s important to take a moment to reflect on projects, particularly where they have gone well, and celebrate them. The ACE awards are a prime example of this.
