About Andrew

I am a Chartered Engineer and currently manage the Christchurch Building Structures team for WSP and am passionate about continuously improving outcomes within our industry. I am a motivated people leader and enjoy working with teams. In 2018 I was a finalist for Engineering New Zealand Young Engineer of the Year. I have studied both engineering and business giving me a good foundational understanding of how the two need to go together in order to create success.

Strengths

I see the Regional Chair role as an important point of local representation of ACE New Zealand and a local representative of members. I am a strong and confident communicator which I see as an important trait for this role. As a current people manager, I am used to dealing with colleagues of various backgrounds, experiences and personalities which is an important skill part of interacting with a diverse membership base.

How would you support ACE New Zealand’s mahi in your region?

Getting out and talking with ACE New Zealand members and sharing what ACE is currently working on to help out the membership will be important, were relevant doing this through local events. The other side to this will be understanding the current concerns for members and communicating/advocating back to management on the behalf of members in the region.
