International recruitment campaign to attract construction and infrastructure talent to Aotearoa

To help combat the skilled migrant shortage the construction and infrastructure industry is currently facing, we've launched Recruitment Storyteller - a toolkit of targeted videos, social media and digital banners, messages and case studies for ACE members to use when recruiting internationally.

With funding from the Construction Sector Accord, we collaborated with Civil Contractors NZ, Master Builders and Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects, and the New Zealand Construction Industry Council (represented by Master Plumbers) and worked alongside New Zealand Story to develop the toolkit which can be used for the US, UK-Ireland, Canada, South Africa and Asia markets.

The toolkit emphasises the consistent reasons migrants immigrate to New Zealand including the attractive natural environment, an inclusive and friendly culture, stable government, lifestyle, healthcare, safety, career opportunities and education and, in more detail, why the New Zealand construction and infrastructure industry is an attractive industry for migrants.

How to use the toolkit

There are three ways members can use the assets:

1. Individual activation

As an ACE member, you can download the assets yourself and use them in your own marketing campaigns.

2. Centralised activation

We’ve partnered with recruitment specialists HainesAttract who have strong links internationally and can help you to reach high-quality candidates. HainesAttract will use the Recruitment Storyteller toolkit to purchase media on your behalf and drive online traffic to a newly created website where jobs will be posted. To start this process, please email [email protected] If your business has a preferred recruiter, they can also partner with HainesAttract on this initiative.

3. Preferred activation

You can use the Recruitment Storyteller assets and work with your preferred recruitment specialist to attract international talent.

The toolkit can be viewed and downloaded via New Zealand Story's website Recruitment Storyteller for the construction and infrastructure sector
